    Author of over 250 books, he was the minister at the Dutch Reformed Church of Wellington (South Africa) from 1871 to 1906, and lived there until his death in 1917. ____________

Less well-known is his involvement in church/state relations, theological debates, and the founding of universities.  Murray's solidly biblical theology and fiery spiritual life made him a driving force behind the revivals of his day and a model of faithfulness for ours.
