To the Knights of Prayer ™ Monks Who Have Already Completed the Growing In Christ Monastic Training Course. "You Know What Christ Has Done For You. What Are You Doing For Christ?" Some of your fellow Monks are already Pastors of their Churches, several are currently attending Bible College or Seminary, others are involved in Evangelism and Missions; some do this in their spare time, some full-time. "How's this for a Mission? Let's Change the World! Let's Renew the Church! ...And Let's Do It Now!" "How's this for our main Mission? The one our Lord Jesus Christ gave to all Christians: The Great Commission: "...go ye into all the world, and preach the Gospel to every creature..." If we've learned one thing from our study of Christian History, it is this: God only needs One Man or One Woman to change the World, to alter the History of the short time in which we live, in which God has placed us. After you new Monks have completed the Growing In Christ Monastic Training Course, it is time to ask the Lord to show you what type of ministry (Christian service) He has called you to, if you haven't already done so. We are each of us a part of the Body of Christ. No one can do everything, nor does God expect you to. What is important is that you are faithful to the particular calling that He has called you to. Not that the Lord only calls you to one thing permanently. The Lord's call is actually to Himself, not to just to a particular ministry. Now that you are grounded in basic Christian Doctrine and the basic disciplines of the Christian life as taught in the New Testament, it is time for action. (Church / Home) Prayer Meetings / 24-Hr. Prayerchain Does your Church or fellowship have a weekly prayer meeting? You of all people should get involved. Maybe it needs to be promoted, and other Church members personally invited to attend. If they don't, you might talk to your Pastor about starting one. Does your Church have Home Prayer Groups? Does God want you to get involved or talk to the Pastor about starting one? Does your Church have a 24-Hr. Prayerchain? Witnessing / Evangelism / Missions A witnessing / evangelism group? Does your Church already have one? Does one need to be started? Are you the one to start it? Does your Church sponsor Missions? Individual Missionaries? Church Officer / Board Member Are you needed as a Church Officer? Are you needed as a Board Member? Often Board members are chosen for business expertise, and these may not necessarily always be the most spiritual of Christians (though of course sometimes they are). Sunday School Teacher / Home Bible Study Group Leader Is God calling you to be a Sunday school teacher? Does your Church have a Basic Doctrine Class, or Basic Apologetics Class? Paul E. Little's two classic works, Know What You Believe, and Know Why You Believe are excellent texts for such classes. Does your Church have Home Bible Study Groups? "Go to God in prayer. If the ministry God calls you to already exists: fill it. If it doesn't exist, create it." ________________________________________________ Additional Page (Not Required): (6) Start A Local "Chapter" _______________________________________________ Related Pages: "Virtual" Monastery: Our Web Site! ________________________________________________ Copyright © 2002 S.G.P.
