  Oct. 31, 1517: Martin Luther, an Augustinian Monk and a Priest in the Roman Catholic Church, unknowingly begins the Protestant Reformation when he nails his 95 Theses for Church Reform to the door of Wittenburg Cathedral (in what is now modern-day Germany).  Many Christians (including us) Celebrate Oct. 31 as "Reformation Day."
