Every doctrinally heretical Cult organization denies different essential doctrines of Christianity (by the term, Cult, we mean a group that claims to be Christian, but does not hold to the basic tenants of the historic Christian Faith: see Statement of Faith, Apostle's Creed, Nicene Creed). However, they all seem to reject the basic Biblical teachings concerning the Nature of God; which includes the doctrine of the Trinity (see Memory Verses: 3rd Set), and that of the Deity of Christ. The term, Deity of Christ, means that Jesus Christ was God. God in the flesh come to earth. God the Son, the Second Person of the Trinity. A good way to most clearly understand the meaning of a Verse of Scripture, is to always read it in context. That means also reading the verses that come before and after it. Read all of (the Gospel of) John 1:1-18; it is a truly beautiful section of God's Word that teaches the Deity of Christ. Optional Bible Study There are so many excellent verses in the Bible on the Deity of Christ! We list some more below. Before you begin memorizing the above verses, do a Bible Study by looking up all of the verses below, and feel free to either add to those above or substitute any of the following verses to make up your four memory verses for this month. Praise God in his sanctuary: Praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: Praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: Praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: Praise him with the stringed instruments and organs.
