"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:"  -I Peter 3:15

Of course, we say these verses at least once a week in our Worship Service.  We also often say them in our daily evening fifteen minute husband/wife together time of prayer and worship, which has no set forms or prayers.

Because we have memorized our entire Worship Service, various small portions of it may sometimes spontaneously used by us, in addition to our individual spontaneous prayer.

Whenever you may choose to do so, these verses should be recited at least once per week. ____________________________________________________________

Salvation Verses

John 3:16-17 (You have already memorized John 3:16-17!); New Memory Verses: I Timothy 2:5; John 14:6; Ephesians 2:8-9; I John 5:13

God, in His Great Love, Gave His Only Son for Us, That We Might Be Reconciled With Him

John 3:16-17

"For God so loved the World, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through him might be saved."

Christ the Only Way of Salvation

  I Timothy 2:5

"For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;"

John 14:6

"Jesus said unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life, no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

Salvation Comes From What Christ Has Done, Not From What We Do

Ephesians 2:8-9

"For by grace are ye saved through faith;  and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast."

Assurance of Salvation

                                I John 5:13

"These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may know that ye have eternal life..."

This set of Memory Verses is presented in obedience to I Peter 3:15,

"But sanctify the lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you..."

As Christians, God desires of us that we share our faith with those who are not Christians.

This is Christ's "Great Commission."

Our Lord says in  the Gospel of Mark, "Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature." (Mark 16:15).

First of all, we must ourselves receive the Salvation found only in Christ.

When we have received Christ as our Lord and Saviour, the Christian should, in the words of II Timothy 2:15:

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth."

That is, we should study God's Word to learn how we have received this Salvation, so that we can present God's message of the Gospel (Good News) of Jesus Christ to others. ____________
