Dear Monks,
I was stunned to find that such a scripturally faithful group would be located in Oregon, of all places.
A light in the darkness!  Thank the Lord.                                                   Survey:                                                                                                         Liked Best: God's Word, cartoons, encouragement for prayer.         Comments: You seem to have retained the "good" from the Catholic church and rejected the bad.  This is the first time on your site.  Very good....I was happy to see that it gave a salvation prayer and some extremely helpful and scripturally accurate information (good for those who are searching or questioning their faith).
In Jesus,
Debbie (Clinton Corners, New York)

Survey:                                                                                                           How Found: Googlesearch, "protestant monasteries".
Liked Best: The scriptural background for everything that is listed.  You provide great scriptural basis for all of your viewpoints.
Liked Least: Nothing, I think it is very well done and orderly.
Like to See: Links to scripture, I usually open up BibleGateway in a separate window to view scriptures.  Especially when praying the hours.
Born again? Yes.
Visit Site: Daily.
I was immediately impressed with the website, I have long been interested in monasticism from a Protestant viewpoint but was not aware that there was anyone else in the world who felt as I did.  When I was fortunate enough to find your website, I was very impressed at the organization of the website and the information that it provided. Dear Friends                                                                                              It is always good to find more people who are called to the simplicity of the life Francis gave us in imitating Jesus.                                        (...) a little Googling, which is how I found you! Welcome to the world-wide community.  I love your additional Celtic flavour!                    Peace and all good,                                                                               Alice tssf (Australia)

Survey:                                                                                                           How Found: Can't remember now. it was probably by accident.  Wonderful how accidents can be at times.
Liked Best: Everything.  Can't see it all in one go, though.  Have to come back.  The triquettra is wonderful.  The Daily Prayers.
Liked Least: Nothing.  Yet.  Nothing that I can see.  It is a good Site.  Especially the monk, standing in the garden.
Like to See: Have to think about this one.  You've pretty much got it all covered.
Born again? Yes.
Visit Site: Weekly.
Comments: Green! I remember John Berryman's prayer: "Master of beauty, craftsman of the snowflake, inimitable contriver, endower of Earth so gorgeous and different from the boring Moon, thank you for such, as it is my gift."
O!  You're featuring C. S. Lewis!  This should be exciting!

This is a wonderful Site!  Level-headed too.  You even have the good Dr. Luther as one of your favorite monks!  I am a Lutheran pastor serving in the Philippines, and I am, to say the least, impressed by your website.  It is a refreshing refuge from an often troubling world.  Thank you for encouraging me to pray.  I have been so indolent in my prayers.

Well, just one thing, though.  Luther said that true monasticism is being faithful and excelling in the vocation to which God has called you.  If it is to be a carpenter, then be a good carpenter, and so on.  And it seems that you have excelled in the vocation to which God has called you.  You are, by far, the most excellent monks I have ever met.

"For the faith being ever one and the same, neither does one who is able at great length to discourse regarding it, make any addition to it, nor does one, who can say but little diminish it."

Irenaeus was certainly right about that.  In seminary we were admonished time and time again never to play with the Creeds for the sake of "creative worship." The creeds were written for a specific purpose, i.e., to clarify and proclaim the Christian faith, to refute the heretics and to provide a spiritual reference point to which one goes back in times when doubt assails him. Reading Irenaeus again was refreshing.  The Foundation is indeed an oasis in the desert that is the net.  I am praying for you.
In the name and fellowship of our Lord Christ,

(Cagayan De Oro, Philippines)

Survey:                                                                                                           How Found: "Practice the Presence" Site
Liked Best: To know how easy it is to "link" sites.
Liked Least: I will do some thinking about this, I really believe we need to be praying 24/7.
Born again? Yes.
Visit Site: Less than weekly.
Comments:
1. I wondered if it was 'Kosher'.
2. I thought this would appeal to older, more traditional folk.
3. I was intrigued at all the things there are to discover...            (Western Province, South Africa)

Comment from The Prayer Foundation Apparently our ministry and website appeal to all ages.  While many are teenagers and in their twenties, the total age range of those "interested in our website" has so far been from 9 years old to 80 years old.

Visit Site: Weekly.
Comments: Honestly, it looked a bit cluttered until I got used to the color scheme.                                                                                   (Arizona)

We are producing a religious education programme for Anglican primary schools in Ireland and have the story of Amy (Carmichael) within one of the lessons.  We would really like a photograph to accompany this.  (Request concerning obtaining photograph; and any applicable copyright permission). This is a non-profit production, with 5,000 books printed and sold to schools at cost.                                                             If you would like any further information I would be happy to oblige. Many thanks,                                                                                    Jennifer B.                                                                                         Church of Ireland Board of Education                                     (Rathmines, Dublin, Ireland)

Greetings,
My name is John and I am writing to ask about your organization.  Is The Prayer Foundation a sort of evangelical monastic order?

I am a recent graduate of Moody Bible Institute, and am descended from the families in Ireland that once served in the abbeys before Rome's intervention.

Are you aimed at sharing the gospel with Celtic peoples, such as the Irish, Cornish, Welsh, Scots, etc.?  I am Irish (and my mother is a Scot).  I am very familiar with the Celtic church from my family, as well as my studies.

I am very interested in the notion of one's pursuit of the old ways of Ireland.  They are extremely important, and very often forgotten by Christendom.

By the way, I'm also attending Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in the fall.  It was good to know that my schools were at the top of your list.
In Christ,
John M. (Chicago, Illinois)
