Liked Best: The idea that women can become monks.            Impressions: The web pages are a little busy, and it's hard to find things.  For instance, it took me a while to find out where you mentioned Lectio Divina.
Liked Least: I don't know.  There's a lot here, and it will take some time to explore.                                                                                                Like To See: Your Recommended Books list is great, but short on great texts like "The Sacred Art of Listening."

Your tip led to me finding and acquiring the German translation of Lewis's Mere Christianity.  In German, the title is "Pardon, Ich bin Christ".
Thank you again,
Len C.

P.S.: The book has been sent to an elderly couple in Germany.
With any luck (and perhaps with your prayers), it will help bring
them to Christ.

Hi Brother and Sister Christians,
My name is Amado and I am a Catholic lay person and a member of the Secular Franciscan Order.  St. Francis founded three orders, the Friars Minor (little brothers), the Poor Clares (St. Clare and her followers)  and the Third Order for lay persons.  The Third Order is now called the Secular Franciscan Order.  I was very excited when I accidentally ran across your website and found out that there are Born Again Evangelical Protestant Monks!  In a world that is becoming more and more anti-religious it gives me great joy to see how the Holy Spirit is working these days. Where sin abounds grace really does abound all the more.
We (Catholic) Franciscans are not monks physically but I really think that we are monks at heart as per your definition of a monk.  I join you in prayer when I say my Liturgy of the Hours and now I will include you in my prayers and hope that you will pray for me also.  St. Francis I am sure is smiling on you from Heaven.
God Bless you,
Amado C.

Dear Prayer Foundation Monks ,
I have checked out your website many times over the years.  I enjoy it.
I am an ordained pastor in the United Church of Christ, soon marking my 25th year of church ministry.
I have decided to adopt a somewhat monastic lifestyle (as much as this is possible for a married person living in the secular world and living outside of a monastery environment).
I have also done all of the daily readings.  I have been following  your published prayers/readings as I have prayed the hours.  During my prayer time, I have also added several other prayers---both published/historical prayers and prayers from my own  heart.
In my heart/mind, I consider myself a part of your movement--albeit a new member.
Sincerely,
Jon (Illinois)

Dear friends,
I'm an English language teacher from Scotland currently working/living in Estonia.  I have been quite actively Christian for many years and have now come to a stage in my life where I feel I need to do more with and for my spiritual growth.  I have read your website many times and have come to the conclusion that it is the right way forward for me at this stage in my life...to join your order as a monk so that I may fulfill God's plan for me and this wonderful gift he gave to us all...life.
Best wishes and God bless,
Martin P. (Estonia; originally from Scotland)

My name is Chris from Bangor in County Down, N. Ireland.  I am a Protestant minister (ordained as an evangelist).  Over 10 years ago myself and an Augustinian Brother formed an Order called the Heart of St. Patrick.  I guess it was our way of responding to a post-conflict Ulster which had stereotyped the Scriptures/the Good News.
On looking at your website we seem to have so much in common---a passion for Christ, ecumenical for the Gospel's sake, itinerant, evangelistic.  We often joke that we seek to glorify God by doing as much damage to the devil with as little collateral damage to people.
Thanks for being there,
Chris (Bangor, County Down, N. Ireland)
