Hi Preston & Linda,                                                                                       I found your site and I am enjoying your articles.  I am a full gospel pastor that has become involved in Celtic Christianity.  We would appreciate your prayers, as we are doing a similar thing in South Florida. Blessings,                                                                                                       +Mike & Daryl, Ann Z. (Davie, Florida)

I was enjoying your posts about Telemachus, and I read where you heard
about it first on Christian Radio.  I did as well and I remembered
about it and so searched for the saint who aided in ending gladiator
fights which lead me to your website.  Anyway, I just wanted to let you
know that it was possibly Ravi Zacharias the famed Christian speaker.
I know when I heard him tell it I was very moved, as he is a great story
teller.
Sincerely,
Justin C. (North Carolina)

Greetings,
My name is Heidi W.  Two and a half years ago, the Lord called me to become a Woman of Prayer.  Since that time, I have been using the Celtic Daily Prayer, from Northumbria Community, to guide my daily prayers, and the Lord has given me a gift of intercession.  However, there is a strong sense within me that community is vital, and that joining such a group is the next step in my walk with Him.

When I came across your website via StumbleUpon, the page listing Top 10 Christian Books, I started exploring your website.  Immediately, Jesus broke my heart as I clicked around, but when I came to a page that says "you must be committed to becoming a Man or Woman of Prayer", the answer that leapt in my heart was YES!  I am confident this is a call of God upon my life.  Many things are lined up right now, pointing to my involvement, including being in transition between churches as I seek a local congregation with which to worship.

Because I am between churches at this time, my monthly giving has been "idle" in November. Therefore, please look for a contribution in your snail mail this week. I have been praying about where to give, and the leading is strong to send this month's check to you.

Is there anything else I should do?  Is it as simple as contributing and beginning the course of study/praying the office, etc.?

Already this morning I have been to the Daily Office page to begin my day, and the Prayer Requests page.  Oh, by the way, it is very cool that you have put The Lord's Prayer, Psalm 23 and Psalm 117 as a foundation to the three hours of prayer.  I expect I will soon have the two Psalms memorized (already have The Lord's Prayer, from childhood).  That is one of the things that I appreciate the most about how you have things set up in this website: Scripture memorization, praying the Psalms (Psalms is my favorite book of the Bible) and all the wonderful articles and helps for prayer.  It is God's call on my life, and your website will be most helpful as I follow that leading.  Amen.
Blessings,
Heidi W. (Utah)

Dear brothers and sisters,
Not so long ago I discovered your site - and I'm enjoying it!
I'm thrilled to find something that's on the one hand so clearly Protestant, yet at the very same time so broad in choosing resources to draw from for our spiritual growth!

As I put my name down for a prayer slot, I was wondering about this prayer chain.
From a very early age I've been intrigued by the hymn that says:

"The sun that bids us rest is waking our brethren 'neath the Western sky, and hour by hour fresh lips are making Thy wond'rous doings heard on high."

As a result I'm always curious about the workings of a prayer chain. For instance, I'd love to know whether most of the slots are filled, whether we overlap with other prayer warriors, etc.

Questions like these made me wonder if it would be possible to make some details of this prayer chain public to all those who pray.
The simplest option would be to have a different colour for a block of time for which someone has put down his/her name.  When we fill in the form for this, we could even be given the choice whether or not we want any of our details to be shown (name, country, etc.) and/or whether we'd like to hear from others who pray at the same time.  Another option could be to shade the blocks in a way that shows the continent where the prayer warrior lives.

With my prayers for God's richest blessings on your ministry,
Jorine B.

Comment from The Prayer Foundation ™: Thank you for your encouraging words.  We started our 24 Hr. Prayerchain on Nov. 8, 2000, and colored the boxes in black when that time was taken by someone.  We thought it would take two months to fill in all of the spaces, but it actually took nearly two years.  We were surprised to find that half of all the volunteers wanted to pray between one and three p.m. on Sunday afternoons (which was fine!).  So all of the spaces have been colored in black for about six years now (we currently have nearly 1,700 Prayer Warriors in 34 Countries, so they are all covered pretty well).
Yes, anyone praying "overlaps" with, at the very least, hundreds of other Prayer Warriors.
Your ideas are very good nice ones---we had actually not thought of them.  Regrettably, we have been running behind ever since the Boston Globe articles mentioning us came out last February.
We liked your Hymn stanza and have posted it on our Prayer Requests page.
Thank you so much for praying for us!

Survey:                                                                                                                 How Found: Google - researching Christian prayer groups.
Liked Best: Your passion for your beliefs.
Call to Salvation, Calvinist encouragement for spiritual disciplines in general, focus on our Lord and not personalities, minimal mention of money.
Liked Least: The unavoidable fact that I am unable to physically join the brethren for Sabbath fellowship or regular prayer (several thousand miles an ocean and a continent in the way :-)  ).
Like to See: PayPal for expedient and more secure transfer of overseas tithes.                                                                                                              Would it be financially inhibitive to hear/see recordings/photos/videos of daily life and "happenings" at and around the Foundation?
Born-again? Yes.
Visit Site: Daily.
Comments: Strongly positive - despite a natural caution regarding anything spiritual on the internet.  I have made a commitment to support the prayerchain.  I am in the U.K. and am able to pray Sunday mornings from 6 am for a minimum of 15 minutes - usually more.

I've been praying for the prayer requests for awhile now, and I know its a privilege to do so.  I've been praying for you also, increasingly....
Your welfare is extremely important to me...I've recently signed up for the newsletter...
Thank you!
With love in Jesus,
Kathie (California)

P.S.: I just found my input on here for 5/7/08, from California! Thank you so much for allowing me to be part of your life and hopes.  Your ministry has
changed my life.

I thank the Lord for the ministry of your web pages which are a tremendous encouragement.
I have been a daily visitor to your website for about 3 months now.  I have applied to support the prayerchain a couple of times but not heard any response.                                                                                                            The Prayer Foundation's website is a tremendous encouragement.  After prayer, tangible support is vital.  To this end a commitment is going to be made in the next week as per conviction received in prayer.
Apart from the commitment made to the prayer chain, the Foundation's ministry is on my prayer list.
I give thanks to the Lord for His ministry through The Prayer Foundation.
Yours in His service,
Brother Bruce (England)

Comment from The Prayer Foundation ™: Thank you for your greatly appreciated concern.  Please keep praying for us---we are still struggling to catch up to date with a vast backlog of interest/emails/mailings that has occurred ever since last Feb. when the Boston Globe articles came out.  We have finally gotten the website back to daily updates for the first time since June and will continue this, as we continue working to catch up the mailings, which are still several months behind.  We have only a very small volunteer staff who receives no compensation for what they do.  As soon as we catch up, we will be moving in some additional new areas of ministry that we are very excited about.

To put it all in perspective, recently the Billionaire Oilman, T. Boone Pickens, spent 18 million dollars (over a 3 month period) for television ads to receive 3 million "hits" per month to his website over the same period.  We are currently receiving over 1 million "hits" per month (one-third of his) on a budget of approximately $200.00 USD per month, with no advertising ever having been done.  Praise God!

We receive over 200 emails per day from around the world and are regrettably unable to respond to most of them.
