Greetings My Beloved Brother And Sister In Christ!
My life has completely changed by following the information and requirements on The Prayer Foundation website since over a year and a half ago.  I love Jesus Christ and I love you and pray for you and others---always.
I have met the requirements thus far on my journey and wish to grow closer to God with each day.
I have actually never been happier and this I owe to you Monk Linda and to you Monk Preston.  My life is full.
I love your updated site, and if you could, please send a new Monk Certificate and Card (I know how busy you are!).
May God Continue To Bless Your Work,
Monk Elli (Colorado)

Survey:                                                                                                                 How Found: I think I was looking for a site with the entire work: The Canticle of Brother Sun and found your site.
Liked Best: All of it.  But the thing that appealed to me most was the easy way it is to get to the different areas of the site.  Well done!
Liked Least: That I don't have time to go through all that is here.  It's so wonderfully filled with God's words and work.
What could be improved? I like it the way it is.
Like to see? Nothing else.  I think because I've not had the time to go through it all.
Born-again? Yes.
Visit Site: Less than weekly.  I don't have Internet at home so must use breaks and lunch to come here to read.
Comments: I like it.  It seems to portray the serenity of your life and your mission to help others to learn how to pray too.  I like the colors you use and the pictures of the Monks.

I love your website.  Greetings from South Carolina!  I was looking up "Brother Andrew" and that led me to your site.
I will be recommending you, and also wanted to know if you are familiar with the 'Sisters of Mary', started by Basilea Schlink in Darmstadt, Germany after WW II.  They are a Protestant Sisterhood.  I used to live nearby and was very impressed with them.
Will be back in touch with you.  You have put lots of work and effort in this website.                                                                                                        Elizabeth C. (South Carolina)

To whom it may concern:
Upon examining your Site, I found that in your count of the number of chapters in the Bible you omitted Psalm 118.  That would make the total number of chapters in the Old Testament 596 and the total number in the Bible 1,189 and verse 8 in the 118th Psalm would be the center of the Bible.
Please respond.                                                                                               Carol W.
Comment from The Prayer Foundation ™:                                                                            The answer is: we counted it in later, as is shown on our webpage:

Our count from Genesis 1 through and including Psalm 117 is listed as - 595 Chapters.  Our count from Psalm 119 through and including Revelation 22 is listed as - 593 Chapters.

We have not counted Psalm 118 at this point because it is supposedly the "center Psalm".  Since we can now see that it is obviously not, we then count it and add it in onto the 2nd half of the Bible Chapters (now Psalm 118 through Revelation 22), making the total with Psalm 118 included: 594 Chapters.

Our webpage then states: There are 594 chapters up to (and including) Psalm 116 (now we are not counting Psalm 117 in the first half,  because it is actually the "center Psalm" if you are counting Chapters) and 594 Chapters from 118 on (including Psalm 118). This makes Psalm 117, (not Psalm 118) the center chapter of the Bible.  Psalm 117 is the shortest Psalm.  It has only two verses, and therefore no "center" verse.

595 (including Psalm 117) + 594 (including Psalm 118) = 1,189

594 Chapters + Psalm 117 (the correct "center Psalm") + 594 Chapters = 1,189 Total Chapters in the KJV.

(To find out what we're talking about, see our webpage: Not the Center Verse of the Bible: Psalm 118:8)

Dear Friends,
I have just come across your website, and was completely astounded by what I saw.  A site given to raise our appreciation of the contribution of the Celtic saints without a mention of the Welsh saints!!!  This contempt for the Welsh contribution is further strengthened by the inclusion of Bede, who hated the Welsh, as a favourite 'Celtic' saint.  This rewriting of history is done in the name of 'equality' - but only the equality of those whom you believe to deserve that equality.  You are indeed disciples of the racist Bede.
Yours,
Guto Prys ap G. (Wales)

God bless you in your beautiful ministry...I am sending $25 for the book Thin Places: an Evangelical Journey into Celtic Christianity.  I also am looking for how the Lord wants me to come in deeper...

I just came across this "New Monastic" thing yesterday.  I have to say I find it interesting but I still have questions and I'm still praying about it.
For the past four years, I have had an interest in monks.  It started because I discovered Thomas Merton and I found his writings to be genius, inspiring, and revelatory.  I wanted to be a monk and live the contemplative life but couldn't because for one, I'm not Roman Catholic, and two, I eventually married.
Then yesterday, I stumbled upon the new monastic practices and I was full of joy.  I want to live this kind of life, being consecrated to Christ and immersed in the Word and prayer.  I read the content of your page and I agree with what you do.
As stated before, I find this ministry fascinating and am heavily considering being a part of it.
Thank you for your time.  If I can, may I subscribe to the newsletter?
God bless you,
James Mark G. II (Ohio)

I have been doing research on Martin of Tours and came across a picture of what looks like a bas relief of St. Martin on your Web page: Favorite Monks: Martin of ToursCan you give me any information as to where this picture came from and where the bas relief is located?  Someone in our organization is making a medal with St. Martin of Tours and would like to use this image for the medal.
Any help you can be would be greatly appreciated.

Brothers,
After viewing your "Brief History of Christian Monasticism" I thought I might forward some thoughts.  According to Dictionary.com, the definition of a hermit is a person who has withdrawn to a solitary place for a life of religious seclusion.  If this definition is correct then Paul of Thebes and Cyprian of Carthage would not be considered hermits due to their desiring to separate themselves, not for solitude but from persecution.  St. Anthony is considered the first monastic in the Eastern Church due to his desiring to separate himself from the sinfulness he found in the society of his day.
In Christ,
Fr. Deacon Athanasius
